Repairing a vehicle that has been in an accident can be a complex task. The number of steps we take in the process and the time it takes for us to restore your vehicle to pre-accident condition, all depends on the extent of the damage. We employ individuals who are expert in their trade and trained to perform any size of repair.
We have listed out below the process for an ‘average’ repair.
1.) Your chosen Baldwins Repair centre will contact you directly to arrange vehicle collection/drop off from your home/to site and use of a courtesy car (if applicable).
2.) Our onsite Estimator will take photographs of your vehicle as soon as it arrives at our Repair centre. They will compile a list of all repair work required and provide an estimated cost. Once the work has been authorised by your insurance company we will contact you to approve the work.
3.) The new parts will be ordered and once they have arrived, it’s time for your vehicle to go into the workshop and to our trusty Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) Technician. They will dismantle your vehicle ready for inspection, fault-finding and testing.
4.) Your vehicle is then taken to our expert panel beaters in the panel repair shop. This team can reshape and knock dents out of panels in a variety of ways using a multitude of specialist tools!
5.) And then it’s into the paint shop for the preppers and painters to work their magic.
6.) Your vehicle then goes back to the MET Technicians who reassemble your vehicle with all the new parts.
7.) Your vehicle is then polished and valeted inside and out.
8.) The Bodyshop Manager will quality control (QC) every completed vehicle that leaves the workshop to ensure that the work has been carried out to an excellent standard.
9.) We will then contact you to arrange delivery/collect your vehicle.
We will keep you up dated through the repair process via telephone and email.
You are most welcome to contact your local Baldwins Repair Centre at any stage of the repair process.
